Inspired by Métis culture, this richly detailed scene was created by Ontario artist Véro Filion for the 2026 Villager Puzzles Call for Art. A fiddler plays near a riverside settlement as a paddler drifts by, alongside a bison, a Red River cart, and florals inspired by Métis beadwork, each symbolizing belonging and connection to the land. As the music rises, flowing Métis sashes become the northern lights, carrying culture between earth and spirit, past and present.
