I feel like I always need to have my phone handy, nowadays.  This lanyard is so convenient and very easy to install.  Just remove and insert the tab in between your phone and case.  Now you can clip your phone to the lanyard.  Then, if you want to adjust the length, just slide the loop.  There is also a tab that you can hang sunglasses or clip an earbud case or your favourite charm.  This cable is 7mm and is smooth yet sturdy.  It is the same sort of cabling that is used for climbing.  I have worn it with a sweater and lighter weight materials and I did not find that it distressed any of the fabric.  Just a note though, if your phone case has a small hole, adding the tab may reduce accessibility to your charging port so just ensure your phone case has enough room or you are using wireless charging!
